Chris Simcox, the 52 year old co-founder of the minuteman Civil Defense Corps, a vigilante border watch group, was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of two counts of molestation of a child, two counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of attempted molestation of a child. According to the Arizona Daily Star, Simcox was taken into custody in Phoenix after allegedly having sexual contact with three very young girls. According to court documents, two of the girls were six years old and the other one was just five years old. Simcox is currently being held without bail.
Despite his history of erratic, paranoid and violent behavior Simcox has been a frequent guest on both CNN and FOX, as an opponent of illegal immigration. Ironically, in what might be a classic case of projection, Simcox has repeatedly accused Mexican immigrants of lawless and lewd behavior once saying he was tired of them “jeering at little girls walking on their way to school.”
Simcox’s arrest on child molestation charges comes just a little over two years after another border vigilante, Shawna Forde, was handed down a death sentence for her participation in a home invasion robbery and the murder of Raul Flores and his 9 year old daughter Brisenia Flores. As the nation debates immigration reform, the lawless behavior of xenophobic zealots is not likely to help the anti-immigration reform cause.
