WAYNESVILLE, IN (WAVE) – Police are investigating a quadruple homicide after four people were found dead in Bartholomew County, Indiana.
The four bodies were found with gunshot wounds in a home in Waynesville by a relative on Saturday night, according to Ed Reuter, the Director of Bartholomew County Emergency Operations. Reuter said they received a 911 call from the home around 10:40 p.m. after that relative walked in on the bodies.
Brandon Pickett is friends with the family member who walked in to his house and found the bodies. He said he feels awful for him, “You know the poor kid don’t have no body. I mean all he had was who lived in this home and now he don’t even have them.”
During a Sunday morning news conference, police said the victims—three men and one woman—were shot to death. Their identities have not been released.
Samantha Wolfe said she knew one of the victims, “It’s just shocking that someone would do something like that.”
Waynesville is a small community about five miles south of Columbus, Indiana.
Investigators are searching for a suspect in connection with the deaths. No suspects are in custody.
